Sugarcane press uses a reducer

The reducer is an essential accessory equipment for the sugar extractor. In China during the 1960s and 1970s, the reducer used in the sugar extractor generally employed medium-hard tooth surface materials. Among them, the medium-hard tooth surface materials used were 35CrMo or 45 quenched and tempered steel for heat treatment, followed by gear rolling. The tooth surface hardness ranged from HB250 to 300. The nitrogenizing material for the small gears was 35CrMoVA or other nitrogenizing steel. After two quenches and tempering processes, it underwent fine processing, rough and fine gear rolling, and finally, the tooth surface was nitrided. The precision of the nitrided small gears was generally at grade 7, and the tooth surface hardness ranged from HV500 to 550.

The reducers produced in this way are generally only suitable for sugar mills that process 2,000 to 3,000 or 4,000 tons of sugarcane per day. Therefore, under the historical conditions at that time, medium-hard toothed gears and nitrided gears could basically meet the requirements. However, since the 1990s, new sugar factories have become larger in scale, and there are many production lines that process more than 5,000 tons of sugarcane per day, and production lines processing 8,000 tons of sugarcane are not uncommon. Because this type of reducer is used in sugar mills, the tooth surfaces are severely worn, and after three to four harvests, the tooth surfaces will begin to show pitting. Generally, after five years of use, the backup gearbox needs to be replaced. In addition, the size of the reducer is large, and its precision is generally only 7th or 8th grade, which cannot meet the production requirements of new large-scale sugar factories. 

The purpose of this sugar extraction machine reducer is to address the actual problems of the sugar extraction machine, such as low output, severe wear and pitting on the tooth surface, short service life, large size and low precision of the medium-hard tooth surface reducers. It provides a hard-toothed surface reducer for sugar extraction machines and a processing method for hard tooth surfaces.
