Under the tide of technological-driven industrial upgrading, the metallurgical industry is undergoing a profound transformation. In recent years, the integration of metallurgical reducers and intelligent systems has injected new impetus into the industry's development, ushering in a new era of intelligent metallurgy.
The metallurgical reducer, as a crucial transmission equipment in metallurgical production, is responsible for transmitting power to various production processes. Traditional metallurgical reducers often encounter difficulties in maintenance and lack timely fault warnings during long-term and high-intensity operation. Nowadays, with the help of cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence, intelligent systems have equipped the metallurgical reducers with a "smart brain".
Shaanxi Steel Longgang Company was the first to introduce a cloud monitoring system on the main drive reducers of its rolling mill. This system deploys sensors at key parts of the reducers to collect real-time data on vibration, temperature, and rotational speed, and transmits the data to the cloud platform via 5G network. If the vibration value, temperature, etc. of the reducer exceed the rated range, the system immediately sends an alert to the technicians, and can also predict potential faults based on the data curves. According to statistics, this system has successfully predicted and diagnosed 95% of the equipment failures in advance, reducing the probability of equipment downtime and promoting the transformation of equipment maintenance from "fault repair, regular repair" to "pre-control maintenance", thereby saving maintenance costs.
At Ansteel Green Resources Technology Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Shenzhen Huichuan Technology Co., Ltd., a 3MW high-pressure permanent magnet semi-direct drive vertical mill intelligent drive system was jointly developed. This system achieved an innovative integration of the reducer, intelligent speed regulation, and permanent magnet motor. By combining a low-speed, high-torque permanent magnet motor with a planetary gear, the vertical conical gear pair and high-speed gearbox were eliminated, significantly simplifying the transmission system and reducing the failure rate by 80%. At the same time, the intelligent speed regulation function maintained the specific surface area of slag powder at 500 m²/kg, increasing the overall production efficiency by 29%, and achieving a 12.4% energy saving compared to the traditional system, with an annual electricity cost savings of 1.2 million yuan.
In addition, the intelligent system also equips the metallurgical reducer with remote control and intelligent diagnosis functions. Technicians can remotely adjust the operating parameters of the reducer from a control center thousands of miles away based on production needs. By leveraging machine learning algorithms, the system can conduct in-depth analysis of massive equipment operation data, automatically identify potential faults in the equipment, generate detailed diagnostic reports, and provide scientific basis for maintenance decisions.
With the continuous deepening of the integration of metallurgical reducers and intelligent systems, the blueprint of intelligent metallurgy is gradually taking shape. In the future, this innovative integration will help the metallurgical industry enhance production efficiency, reduce energy consumption, ensure stable equipment operation, and drive the metallurgical industry to make significant progress towards intelligence, greenness, and high quality development, reshaping the new development pattern of the industry.
